SCBC
From emerging technology education to investment, intelligence and commerce.

Founded in 2020 as a blockchain and emerging-technology education initiative, South Carolina Blockchain has evolved into a commercial platform spanning intelligence, strategic investment, technology commercialization, events and international commerce.

SC Digital Ledger is where the conversation begins.

South Carolina intelligence on technology, infrastructure, policy and commerce.

The SC Digital Ledger tracks the issues shaping the state’s economic chapter; compute infrastructure,  energy, digital identity, capital formation, public policy economic development and technologies moving from theory into practical use.

Strategic Investments

SCBC invests its own capital in companies building the infrastructure of digital trust, verification and commercialization.

International Commerce
Heading 5

Relationships that move to market.

SCBC's international work begins with trust, institutional relationships and shared opportunity — then looks for practical ways to turn those connections into commerce.

01 / FROM EDUCATION TO EXCHANGE

International engagement became a commercial pathway.

SCBC's roots in emerging-technology education created relationships beyond South Carolina. In El Salvador, that engagement grew into a formal memorandum of understanding and a broader framework for cooperation, exchange and economic opportunity.

The important story is not a single product. It is the sequence: build trust, formalize a relationship, understand local production and capability, then identify a practical route into the U.S. market.

THE COMMERCIAL SEQUENCE

01

Relationship

Emerging-technology dialogue and institutional engagement create the foundation.

02

mOU

A formal framework establishes cooperation and a basis for continued exchange.

03

Local Production

Understand the people, process and productive capacity behind the opportunity.

04

product

Identify a differentiated offering that can credibly enter a new market.

 05

U.S. Commerce

Use SCBC's commercial infrastructure to create a lawful path to distribution.

From conversation to a formal framework.

The memorandum of understanding represents the transition from relationship-building to structured engagement. It created a framework for cooperation and opened the door to exploring economic opportunities that could move beyond discussion.

That institutional foundation is the part of the story SCBC wants to preserve: commerce follows confidence, and confidence is usually built before a transaction ever occurs.

03 / A tangible outcome

Lux
Generación.

One practical outcome of that relationship is SCBC's agreement with Destilería Ventura of El Salvador to import Lux Generación whiskey into the United States.

SCBC holds a wholesale alcohol import permit, allowing the company to participate directly in the commercial pathway rather than simply introduce the parties.

04 / Local production

The product begins with place, process and people.

International commerce works best when the origin story is real. SCBC's engagement included direct exposure to local production and the process behind the product, creating a stronger basis for representing it in the U.S. market.

That same principle can apply beyond this first transaction: understand what is being made, who is making it and why it belongs in a new market.

A commercial platform with a South Carolina base.

Charleston has always been connected to international trade. SCBC's broader opportunity is to use its South Carolina base, commercial relationships and emerging-technology network to identify selective cross-border opportunities that fit the company's capabilities.

Lux Generación is the first visible example — not the boundary of the strategy.
